Cuidado Casero Home Health & Hospice is an award-winning provider of hospice care services, that is end-of-life care brought to each patient at the comfort of their home. Often we get asked how Home Health compares to Hospice Care.
What’s the Difference?
Hospice
Hospice care is comfort care for patients with a prognosis of six months or less if their disease runs its natural course. Rather than seeking a cure, hospice care aims to make their remaining time with us as comfortable and as meaningful as possible.
Home Health
Home health care is a wide range of health care services that can be given in your home for an illness or injury. Home health care is usually less expensive, more convenient, and just as effective as the care you get in a hospital or skilled nursing facility (SNF).
Examples of skilled home health services include:
- Wound care for pressure sores or a surgical wound
- Patient and caregiver education
- Intravenous or nutrition therapy
- Injections
- Skilled Staff monitoring serious illness and unstable health status
The goal of home health care is to treat an illness or injury. Home health care can help you recover, regain your independence, and become as self-sufficient as possible.
As a home health agency, we act as the liaison between patient and doctor, saving you precious time from getting authorization for service.
